United misses deadline to answer senators on dragging

City International Airport

United Airlines CEO Oscar Munoz.APThe ME3 have repeatedly denied these allegations.

In his first interview since announcing the cutbacks, Tim Clark told The Associated Press that the Mideast's biggest carrier has no intention of pulling out of the 12 US cities to which it now flies.

Clark said he would have gone further had he been in charge. "This situation causes us great concern", a spokesperson said. It blamed the move on stiffer USA security measures and attempts to ban travelers from some Muslim-majority nations since President Donald Trump took office. Those bans have been contested in court. It is well known that the Gulf carriers, including Emirates, lose money on most of their flights to the United States and are propped up by billions of dollars in government cash. Filipinos and Filipino Americans are among the most frequent air passengers. "So when it gets to this, suffice to say they are falls which cause us to make those kinds of changes".

Munoz will no longer be the chairman of United's board in 2018, according to a regulatory filing released Friday.

Lastly, commencing from July 1, Emirates twice-daily service to Los Angeles will be reduced to a single flight.

United Airlines is experiencing a public relations fiasco after a passenger was injured while being dragged from his seat recently at Chicago's O'Hare Airport.

"The fact is, market demand has never played a role when the Gulf carriers decide where to fly".

He finally went on ABC's "Good Morning America" with a more contrite message and promised a full review of United's policies regarding oversold flights. "It's symptomatic of a corporate culture within that company from the board and chief executive downwards".

That's pretty much the only bright spot for United; the poll also found that 40 percent believed it was the worst airline in the country.

"The use of unnecessary violence is inexcusable, and all passengers should be given the respect and safety that they deserve from any airline" said Brendan Flores, NaFFAA National Chairman.
