Turkey's Erdogan says he's set to meet Trump in Washington

Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is planning to meet his U.S. counterpart Donald Trump next month, hoping for stronger ties with the United States after being "deceived" by ex-President Barack Obama. He will reportedly meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin personally.

"With President Obama, we had a mutual agreement about the PKK - but Obama deceived us. Let s embark on this journey".

But he appeared upbeat about the prospects, saying the two had already spoken three times by phone.

"We can't destroy one terrorist group with another one".

The Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) said a "lack of equal opportunities, one-sided media coverage and limitations on fundamental freedoms" had created an "unlevel playing field" in Turkey's vote.

"We have an advantage".

The Turkish government has repeatedly requested Gulen's extradition, while the Obama administration has said extradition is a lengthy, demanding legal procedure.

Indicating that major meetings with European Union leaders were not now on the agenda, Erdogan said his schedule for trips after the referendum also included Russian Federation and India.

The CHP and the pro-Kurdish HDP party, which says millions of unstamped ballots were accepted, have said they could also appeal the referendum result at the European Court of Human Rights if their legal challenges fail in Turkish courts.

Asked whether the European Court of Human Rights could issue a ruling on the case, an ECHR official said that anyone could submit an appeal to the court once they have exhausted their options for justice at home, but that it would be hard to say in advance whether the court has jurisdiction.

In the statement, Tezcan urged the results not to be finalised until the case was concluded and said the party's lawyer would deliver the paperwork to the court later on Friday afternoon. He particularly stressed that the matter is neither within the authority of the Turkish Constitutional Court nor within the jurisdiction of the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR).

Addressing the CHP, he said: "You will not get anything out of this. This is the will of the people". "We must put an end to this", said Erodgan.

Police detained 16 people in dawn raids in Istanbul on April 19. In all, a total of 38 arrest warrants were issued.

In particular, the electoral board's decision to accept ballots that didn't bear official stamps, as required by Turkish law, raised questions.
