Five Tehran attackers had fought for IS, says Iran

Perpetrators of Tehran attacks were Daesh members Iran

Suicide bombers and gunmen attacked the Iranian parliament and Ayatollah Khomeini's mausoleum in Tehran, killing at least 13 people.

Six attackers mounted simultaneous gun and suicide bomb assaults on Iran's Parliament building and the tomb of the republic's revolutionary founder Ayatollah Khomeini in one of the most audacious assaults to hit Tehran in decades.

The Sunni Muslim militants of Islamic State claimed responsibility for the attacks on the Shi'ite Muslim state.

Other members of the public accused Saudi Arabia and Iran's long-time foe, the United States, of backing the attacks.

During the funeral, Iranian parliament speaker Ali Larijani called the U.S. the "international" version of Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL).

Two separate attacks shook Tehran on June 7. Saudi Arabia dismissed the accusation.

Despite the attacks, Democrats and Republicans in the Senate on Wednesday pushed ahead a bill that would impose a new set of sanctions against Iran.

This Friday, the ministry noted in another separate statement that Iranian security forces, in cooperation with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and the police, had identified and seized several elements linked to the attacks.

President Donald Trump in a statement suggested that Iran bears some culpability for attacks in its capital.

Iran's Intelligence Ministry on Thursday in a statement revealed the identity of five terrorists who were killed during Wednesday terrorist attacks in Tehran.

Iran blamed the Wednesday attacks on Saudi Arabia, casting them in the context of a broader regional conflict that encompasses the war inside Syria.

The country's supreme leader said the attacks will add to the hatred Iranians harbor toward the United States and Saudi Arabia.

"They earlier left Iran and were involved in the crimes of the terrorist group in Raqqa and Mosul", the ministry said, referring to Daesh's de-facto capital in Syria and a city it captured in Iraq.

On the same day, the Intelligence Ministry said the security forces have arrested 41 militants affiliated with Daesh across Iran.

"We still can not judge that Saudi Arabia has had a role in this terrorist incident", he added.

It added that the terrorists were detained in the Iranian province of Kermanshah, Kordestan, West Azarbaijan and Tehran. Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir, speaking in Germany, said he did not know who was responsible and that "we condemn terrorist attacks anywhere they occur", the New York Times reported.

The Saudi's have denied involvement in the attack.
