Ray Lewis warns Colin Kaepernick to keep quiet about social activism

Ray Lewis To Colin Kaepernick:

ESPN's Dianna Russini reports both head coach John Harbaugh and general manager Ozzie Newsome want to sign Kaepernick.

In a statement, Newsome said the team is now going through a process and has not made a decision on whether to sign Kaepernick or not. Baltimore is still weighing whether to add Kaepernick to their roster, particularly with starter Joe Flacco nursing a back injury. Kaepernick drew controversy last season for kneeling during the national anthem in protest of racial oppression. Lewis asserts that he's praying for the free-agent quarterback and encourages his supporters to do the same so Kap can stop all this "nonsense". Owner Steve Bisciotti is reportedly blocking the move. "I'll frame that this way: there are other positions we're looking at and I don't have any updates on those either. I think they're all in the same category". The Ravens have been getting a slew of backlash from fans who don't want him signed to the franchise, with some even threatening to not support the team anymore.

Colin Kaepernick's potential signing with the Baltimore Ravens remains up in the air.

"All my years being in the league, I never received more emotional mail from people that I did about that issue", Mara told TheMMQB.com. If the Ravens sign Kaepernick, he can compete for the backup job against Ryan Mallett, who has struggled big-time in training camp.

Kaepernick to the Ravens talk heated up last week when Harbaugh told reporters Thursday that he's been in contact with Kaepernick throughout the summer. "We're trying to figure what's the right tact".

"The football field is our sanctuary", Lewis posted on his Twitter account.

I'm not going to get too deep in Lewis's fundamental misunderstanding of what activism is-that's hard to do when he's barely speaking coherent sentences-but activism doesn't work if there is no audience.
