Trump trades grade school insults with Kim Jong

President Donald Trump traded petty insults with North Korea's supreme leader Kim Jung Un Sunday, but told reporters shortly after that perhaps one day, he and the North Korean dictator might one day be friends.

Donald Trump has sarcastically declared he would never describe Kim Jong Un as "short and fat", in a series of tweets that also saw him take aim at the "haters and fools" critical of his push for closer ties with Russian Federation.

Confused as to how the two of them weren't friends (?) he continued: "Oh well, I try so hard to be his friend - and maybe someday that will happen!"

"I say to the North: Do not underestimate us, and do not try us", he said.

In his tour of Asia, Trump has warned North Korea not to stretch USA patience, but also suggested the possibility of a diplomatic solution to the crisis.

After more than a week of carefully crafted messages about his trip to Asia, U.S. President Donald Trump has again launched a tweet storm aimed at his critics at home and overseas.

A particularly stern speech from Mr Trump in South Korea prompted Kim's government to brand him an "old lunatic" - the latest broadside in a long-running war of words between the two leaders.

The Korean Central News Agency referred to Trump on Saturday as a "destroyer" and a "dotard" who "begged for nuclear war".

Trump has called Kim "rocket man" and Kim has called Trump a "mentally deranged US dotard", a "gangster fond of playing with fire", and "a frightened dog".

"Every step you take down this dark path increases the peril you face". "On the contrary, all this makes us more sure that our choice to promote economic construction at the same time as building-up on our nuclear force is all more righteous, and it pushes us to speed up the effort to complete our nuclear force".

"Might be a odd thing to happen but it's certainly a possibility", Trump said during a press conference with Vietnam's president, adding that it would be "very, every nice if it did". "If it did happen, it would be a good thing for North Korea, and a good thing for lots of other places and good for the world".

He said he doesn't know if that friendship will develop, but added it would be "very, very nice if it did".

North Korea conducted its sixth and most powerful nuclear bomb test on September 3, prompting another round of United Nations sanctions.
