NZ win toss, bowl against England

Kane Williamson is back for New Zealand as they take on England in Wellington

England kept their cool to win a nail-biting third one-day global by four runs against New Zealand.

England spinners Adil Rashid, left and Moeen Ali, centre, took five of the eight New Zealand wickets to fall including a dire collapse of 4-6 in 21 balls. The skipper played cuts and swatted a Moeen full toss for six but, in the main, accumulated with dabs behind point and nudges off the pads.He found an ally in left-hander Santner, who made 41 before being run out backing up off the fingertips of Woakes, departing with 36 required from 28 deliveries.Although Williamson hit Curran's first ball of the penultimate over for four to bring up his century, the Surrey seamer conceded only three more singles.

Mitchell Santner was in a potentially match-winning partnership with Kane Williamson when he was run out after the ball deflected on to the stumps from a dropped caught-and-bowled chance.

England's lower-order attempted to increase the run-rate but New Zealand took regular wickets and were firmly in the driving seat at the interval. It was the case of batsmen not converting their starts as Joe Root (20), Eoin Morgan (48), Ben Stokes (39), Jos Buttler (29) and Moeen Ali (23) got in and got out.

Williamson, ably assisted by Santner, swung the momentum back in New Zealand's favour, though, keeping the scoreboard ticking while boundaries off Stokes and Tom Curran sped up his knock.

For England, Mark Wood comes in for David Willey.

Morgan was the first man to show any mastery of the pitch, reaching his 48 from 71 balls with three fours and a six one of only two sixes in the innings.

Williamson, meanwhile, said: 'You have to give credit to England because they got in on that surface and they deserved to win.

On a snail-slow wicket at Wellington's Westpac Stadium, the Black Caps' bowling attack - particularly seamers Colin de Grandhomme and Colin Munro and spinner Ish Sodhi - had a field day, flummoxing the English.

Watch the fourth ODI between New Zealand and England, at University Oval in Dunedin, live from 9.30pm on Tuesday on Sky Sports Cricket (channel 404) and Sky Sports Mix (channel 121). We were in a position of strength after 15 overs or so in our innings and then we stumbled a bit, lost wickets and couldn't play as positively as we would have liked.

While Trent Boult also took two wickets, Tim Southee and Colin de Grandhomme contributed with a wicket each. The third ODI is an opportunity for Jason Roy, Jonny Bairstow and Moeen Ali to contribute to the cause as well. "Brilliant game of cricket", England captain Eoin Morgan said.

'My plan was to bowl tight and the wickets just came, we built pressure through dot balls.
