Highlights From Last Night's Rock Hall Induction Ceremony

Bon Jovi has been the first group to take the stage in Cleveland's Public Auditorium, USA Today reported.

The Democratic governor hailed the band as "one of the most famous, enduring rock bands of all time". "We played in the local talent show, came in second place, worked up to block dances and then the clubs where we got a glimpse of what we thought was the big time".

Dire Straits frontman Mark Knopfler was not in attendance, and the band did not perform. Day sang Simone's "I Wish I Knew How It Would Feel to Be Free" and Screamin' Jay Hawkins' "I Put a Spell on You", which Simone famously covered. "Let's just leave it at that". She will be inducted by Brittany Howard, of blues rock band Alabama Shakes. The group then played "I'm Just a Singer in a Rock and Roll Band, ' 'Wildest Dreams, ' 'Nights in White Satin" and 'Ride My See Saw.' The ceremony will be aired in the U.S. by HBO on 5 May.
